CAMP SIMMONS

Ages 6 - 12• Weekly June 22 - August 14, 2026

Camp Simmons is 77 acres of pure wilderness on Lake Avenue in Greenwich featuring an outdoor swimming pool, archery range, and pond for fishing and canoeing. Campers ages six through twelve can participate in special events and themed days like Holidays in July, Olympics, and World Cup Soccer Day. 

Sports 
Campers can play soccer, baseball, and football. The basketball court is home for pickup games as well as organized classes.  

Swimming 
Swimming in the outdoor pool is one of the most popular activities at Camp Simmons. Campers have the opportunity to receive swim lessons and enjoy leisurely swimming with friends. 


2026 THEME WEEKS
Every week is special at Camp Simmons, with themed days, signature activities, and nonstop summer fun.

Week 1 (June 22–26) – Summer Camp Blast-Off 
Kick off the summer in true Camp Simmons style! Campers learn the Camp Simmons Song, show their spirit on Red, White & Blue Day, cool off at the Snow Cone Social, and jump headfirst into a summer full of friendship and fun.

Week 2 (June 29–July 2) – Let’s Be Creative 
Build it, paint it, and make it your own! Campers unleash their imagination with hands-on art projects, fort building in Tepee Town, tie-dye creations, mural painting, face painting, and plenty of colorful, creative messes.

Week 3 (July 6–10) – Backyard FUN 
Classic summer games take center stage. From kickball and wiffle ball to dodgeball, wall ball, and four square, campers enjoy old-school backyard fun, all followed by a refreshing jump in the pool.

Week 4 (July 13–17) – Team Sports Competition 
Campers team up for a week of spirited competition! After an exciting opening ceremony, campers participate in team games, challenges, trivia, and camp-wide events such as building teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence before a big closing celebration.

Week 5 (July 20–24) – Camp Simmons Traditions 
A celebration of everything that makes Camp Simmons special. Campers enjoy favorite traditions like Funny Hat Day, World Cup Soccer, canoe races, Iron Man Races, themed celebrations, and beloved camp classics passed down year after year.

Week 6 (July 27–31) – Hank the Hermit Sports Clinics 
Meet Hank the Hermit, a timeless Camp Simmons character and, according to camp legend, the caretaker of the property! During this sports-focused week, campers build skills in basketball, soccer, and volleyball while learning the importance of teamwork, healthy habits, and positive relationships. With clinics, tournaments, and plenty of encouragement, Hank’s spirit of camp pride and sportsmanship is felt all week long.

Week 7 (August 3–7) – Go Big Red Cardinals Week 
All things Camp Simmons spirit! Campers show their Cardinal pride with themed games, friendly competitions, team challenges, fitness fun, pool races, and high-energy activities that bring the whole camp together.

Week 8 (August 10–14) – Endless Summer Bash
End the summer on a high note! Campers celebrate with water slides, wacky games, special treats, and favorite end-of-summer surprises all while making memories that last long after the final day of camp.
